Jake Schindler Has a Commanding Chip Lead in PokerGo’s 2017 Super High Roller Bowl

Cliff S, May 31, 2017 10:47 UTC

After Day 4 of the PokerGo Super High Roller Bowl, three players remain in the event: Jake Schindler, Christoph Vogelsang, and Stefan Schillhabel. Jake Schindler holds a commanding lead in chips entering Day 5, as he has roughly two-thirds of the chips remaining in the tournament.

At the moment, Jake Schindler (pictured right) has 10,670,000 chips, while Christoph Vogelsang holds 5,245,000. Stefan Schillhabel is struggling to remain in the tournament with only 885,000 chips at the moment. At the current blind levels, that represents only 15 big blinds, so Schillhabel will have to make a quick move or he’ll make a quick exit.

Super High Roller Bowl Day 5

Day 5 begins at 1:00 pm Las Vegas time on Thursday. The winner receives $6,000,000 and the prestige of winning one of the year’s prestige events. The second-place finished receives $3.6 million, while the third-place finisher is set to collect $2.4 million. Those interested in the final day can view on PokerGo’s live streaming online.

The two previous winners, Brian Rast and Rainer Kempe, had strong showings that took them into Day 3 of the event. A new champion will be crowned in 2017, though — either the American Jake Schindler or one of two German pros.

Kevin Hart Makes a Notable Debut

Along the way, fans were entertained this year with a number of solid performances from amateur players. Actor and comedian Kevin Hart, a new representative of PokerStars, made it to Day Two of the SHR Bowl.

Hart entertained the other players with his most dramatic move when he “banged” the poker table at PokerGo’s Super High Roller Bowl at Aria in Las Vegas, bringing a bit of levity to the first day of the event. During an all-in hand, Kevin Hart promised he would bang the table if he won.

The all-in hand pitted Kevin Hart against poker professional Brian Rast. Hart won the hand, providing one of the most dramatic moments of the day. Unfortunately, the comedian busted out of the event later in Day One.

Kevin Hart’s Career

Mr. Hart was one of a handful of non-professional celebrities and luminaries in the 2017 SHR Bowl. Because the buy-in is $300,000, only the most succesful professional players tend to enter the event — whether they pay their own entry or have sponsorship. Adding a few mystery players and celebs bring added excitement. Humping the table appears to have been Kevin Hart’s main contribution.

Kevin Hart has starred in such movies as Little Fockers (2010), Think Like a Man (2012), Grudge Match (2013), and The Secret Life of Pets (2016). He is known for his standup comedy shows like I’m a Grown Little Man (2008), which is based on observational humor and satire. He currently stars on the reality TV show, Real Husbands of Hollywood, which is in its 5th season.

SHR Bowl Day 3 Results

After a strong showing in the first couple of days by amateurs, the creme rose to the top on Day Three. Only one non-professional remained after three days of play. Day 3 also happens to be the money bubble.

Rainer Kempe, the 2016 SHR Bowl champion, busted out after making a big comeback throughout the day. So did 2015 champion, Brian Rast. Other notables who bowed out on Day 3 were Daniel Negreanu and Jason Mercier.

Leon Tsoukernik and the Final Table

The best finish among the amateur players was Leon Tsoukernik, who finished in 4th place. Leon Tsoukernik is the Czech entrepreneur who owns Kings Casino Rozvadov in Western Bohemia in the Czech Republic. Kings Casino has the largest poker room in Europe, with 168 poker tables at present. He is also the CEO of Vestar Group and a notable art collector.

Fifth place wen to Byron Kaverman, who received $1.4 million in winnings. Pratyush Buddiga finished in 6th place, a spot which earned him $1 million even. Justin Bonomo was eliminated in 7th place. Bonomo’s winnings were $600,000.
